Default Buffalo Routers to Ship with DD-WRT firmware

I've always though the biggest strike against using custom/open firmware was the lack of support and potentially voiding warranty.

Buffalo Technology - Press - Press Releases - BUFFALO AND DD-WRT COLLABORATE TO CREATE THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE CONSUMER AND SMALL BUSINESS WIRELESS OFFERING

The WZR-HP-G300NH can be had for under $90 here in Canada, NCIX just had it on sale last week for 84 when I picked it up. Gigabit, Wireless N, high powered radio. Review here.

I imagine you wont see it on the shelf with DD-WRT for a while. Its a really easy flash with the web wizard.

Weren't they doing this a while back? I've seen on Buffalo's site offering a couple WHR-HP-G54 routers already preloaded with DD-WRT.

Regardless, I'll just buy a normal Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, then flash it with DD-WRT myself. I'll be saving myself lots of money.

Your right, I didnt realize that. Looks like their partnered a few year back to create the WHR-HP-G54DD based off WHR-HP-G54, doesnt look like the DD version has been sold in a while.
