Default Nvidia Gtx 480 Benchmarked

Nvidia has just recently released a video benchmarking the Gtx 480. In the video they used the Unigine Heaven benchmark and also showed off there 3d vision surround demo. ( think eyefinity except in 3d). They compared the Unigine Benchmark with a 5870,(which IMHO the 480 which is priced around 700$ should be compared to the 5970 instead.) Overall the 480 beat the 5870 in areas of high tessellation but in all other places performance was pretty much the same. )

This is the asking price around $700?To much for me and wondering if
ATI has a faster chip on hold that we don't know about.Wondering if they are following the
pattern how they kept eyefinity secret until launch.

Have to wait and see the street price to see if the increase in min fps is worth it over a 5870. Also have to wait to see if real games have similar results.

I don't even think nvidia knows their final pricing yet. Not till like under a week will they know for sure.

This has been shown in other places. Also drivers may improve performance. ATI has had a lot of time to improve their drivers for stability and performance. If they are close in performance and price it is going to be a tough call.

Not at all! If they are close in performance, it will be a very EASY call in AMD's favor. Why pay $700 when you can pay $400?

Who the hell says it is going to be $700? Maybe nvidia's dual card but I garantee the GTX480 is going to be less than $700 probably less than $600.

Even if the 480 is around 550...ATI have the power and the capabilities of getting their card down to loke 300$...and trust me much of us will save the 250 GAP to put elsewhere on hardware.

Well the GTX 280 launched with a MSRP of :

With price tags MSRP at $650US for the GTX 280 cards and $400US for the GTX 260 cards.

Off course MSRP are what they are.. but still.. 700$CAD wouldn't be far fetched..
