Wow, NCIX has it for $99 right now. Now thats a deal - Personally not for me though. I am a fan on minimalistic designs, but it just doesn't seem right for me. Maybe I need to look at it more/ see hardware in it

I sent them the email requesting the absorption coefficient of their "sound absorbing" material. Let's see if they did their research haha.

Bitumen is bitumen, you can probably find the properties of it with a quick google. I personally wish they didn't come with a fan hole on the side of the panel, it pretty much defeats the purpose of the bitumen since sound can leak out from there, also detracts a bit from the minimalist look.

For that price I'd buy the CM690 II still..

It may be a good case for some, but I feel that it doesn't have anything special to it.

Heck neoprene sheets are 10$ a boat.

It's just so...bland...trying to be minimalist...but those two vents on the top ..Geez do they prick the eyes.

Yes and no.

It depends on the density of the bitumen.

And sound doesn't work like water; so no.. you don't need to cover every inch of the surface to reduce any frequencies at all. In fact; having an empty room and the same room with a single human being will show measurable differences in specific frequencies.

Correct. The difference between mass induced dampening and interference dampening.

Looks like they got lazy and decided to build a wall...Should've done their homeworks and weaved a matrix to generate canceling waves.
