XFX is joining the foray with Sapphire and Asus, preparing to launch a limited edition 4GB Radeon HD 5970 of its own. I wonder how much more you're paying for the decent cooler on the Asus one though, it seems to only make sense to me to water cool this monster. The stock heatsink wouldn't be seeing much use

They used two real 5870 non-crippled GPUs, doubled the RAM and charged $1000 yet kept the ref cooler?! Why?!

If you're going to charge that kind of money, and put two 5870 GPUs on the same board, could you not have thrown in an Arctic Cooling-sourced or Zalman-sourced cooler in there?
