Exactly.

The current 5970 has the same shaders as the 5870; 1,600, and has the speeds of the 5850 at 725MHz/4GHz, 128GB/s transfer.


So basically it is a 5850 with improved shaders, whereas this new sapphire 4GB card has full dual 5870 cores with full shaders and the 120MHz/800Mhz speed improvement.
