PAX seems like a weird place to introduce Fermi...

My 5870 went up $100 since ive gotten mine in sept. Pray that fermi lives up to the hype, if it doesnt or it flops I can guarantee that we will be paying top dollar on the 58xx series until next gen. Like 8800gtx/8800 gts that was 700/1000 dollars until the 3870 came out to compete with it.

The best part is, it dosnt matter what Nvidia does or how long it takes; if they release a product thats better than ATI's - they'll win. This whole thing has been a blast!

But win for how long? They need to make a quick transition now to 28nm since ATI's Manhattan and Northern Islands will either use 32nm or 28nm.

it will obviously depend largely on how well nVidia's cards perform in comparison and how much they charge. If the stuff nvidia showed earlier with unengine is to be believed they they are more powerful, so ATi cards would most likely drop.

but then there are the 5xxx refresh cards, and better is all relative, if they only offer 5-10% improvement in fps but cost more than that in price premium over ATi will they win?

Ridiculous. At this rate ATI will have released their next lineup before Fermi is even out

WTF!?

Well I guess I get to save more money till fermi is released. I am not going to pay for an over priced ATI card so waiting a month is not a big deal but there are several DX11 games coming out.

So most likely will purchase in April now :(. Would be nice to get my tax refund by then.

Actually nothing surprises me anymore. Any delays just mean I get to keep my money a little longer before the next best thing comes out.

Well it's good to see that nVidia is still the P.O.S. company I always thought it was. A press announcement about announcing that you're late...for the 10th time or so. They must have monkeys working at nVidia.

Well, time for me to consider getting one more 5870 while these fools sort out themselves.
