very interesting I wonder if their dongle is going to work for eyefinity or if you are still going to have to purchase active adapters

This is nice as a concept however why 6 monitors? The 5870 isn't powerful enough to even run certain games smoothly when you have just 2 monitors! Plus even if it was, you'd once again be CPU-bottlenecked to run a game on 6 monitors.

They should have at least made the 5970 support 6 monitors; not the 5870.

How about running 5 or 6 small, cheap monitors? If you can afford 6 largish monitors, you can probably also afford 2 or 3 of these cards in crossfire. And there's a niche market of non-gamers who need/want a huge desktop.

A few people actually do.

I use 4 Monitors actively on a Pair of Quadros at my Job. If I could have more, I would.

Would this be a bad time to mention that Matrox TH2Go's will work on each head of any of the 5xxx-series? It's not official, nor supported (so don't ask them), but I'm on the inside and successfully got a regular 5870 to run 9 monitors with three TH2Go's.

I have a crappy vid of it, but need to edit out the audio, lol.
