Very interesting opinions on this board, I do agree that the developers are sitting back and playing on all the hype about x amount of PCI-E slots, what I would like to see on a board is just 4 PCIE-16x slots spaced out with no slots between them, as you can't use any slots that are in between them anyways and some PCIE x 1 slots for the expansion cards such as raid/scsi cards, usb ports, sound cards etc. The placement of the slots makes the board IMO, the one thing I hate is when you have a PCIE x 1 slot right above the first PCIE x 16 slot, I haven't actually tried to use the slot yet but it just doesn't makes sense at all.

I honestly think that developers need to spend time on making the boards more power efficient, more "green" so to speak. I know to go more "green" there could possibly be a downside in the form of performance drops initially but it would also give them something to expand at.

Motherboard developement seems to have gone the way of Hollywood and just plainly lack all notion of originality. IMO.

Default MSI you are not alone

I'm still waiting for the Nehalem-ex 16 thread octal core monster to break its server chains and show it true potential in the desktop extreme enthusiast market. Only then will you see the dark side of the force with motherboards equipped with native USB 3.0 and sata 6.0 ports, QPI 6.4GT/S, Oh what the hell am I raving about. Gigabyte and Asus have already made those boards with next generation hexacore support standard. I guess I'll have to be patient a little longer before I get my hands on the Intel octalcore monster and its associated technology.
