Oh come on Apple, no multitasking? Seriously? This is not the ******* 80s anymore and your tablet is not running System 6.

That isn't too bad actually. Although Rogers coverage up here is pathetic.

This is predictably underwealming. It is nice to see Apple is putting some emphasis on important things, like battery life, and that a major player is breaking ground in the tablet arena. Maybe in five or ten years they will get it right. I'm looking forward to playing with one in the Apple store.

That was a one time only introductory deal offered when the phones were new. AFAIK you can't get it anymore; $30 will only get you 1G. Plus, the price is on top of your voice plan.

The in-house CPU/GPU chip is interesting. Apart from that, I'm not getting the 'in-betweener' niche this device seems to be targeting. It doesn't seem like it'd be a great productivity tool for the classroom or workplace, and I think it'd be hard to justify paying that amount of money for a 64GB model when you can get a MacBook for a couple hundred extra that will be much more practical.

Apple's own ARM development as they own PA Semiconductors. It will likely be featured more heavily in future mobile devices like iPhone v3.

it does seem underwhelming and expensive.. a glorified iphone from what I can tell.

I think having a 10" tablet with 3G connectivity is bloody silly though, more so with the cost involved.. it would be more practical to have a mobile phone (iPhone?) tether to the tablet to provide that connectivity. no one is going to use this tablet as a phone replacement..

size of a PC with the limitations of the iPhone OS... I don't get it! XD

This is such a bafflingly useless product that I cannot understand why anyone would want something like this. it's basically just a larger iPod touch with the exact same functionality and a ridiculous price tag. I'm sure the fanboys will just eat it up, but I just don't see this as anything more than a toy.
