When AMD can get me "-smp 8" then I'll pay attention to them. Until then they are nobodies unless I am building a HTPC.

I was AMD from from 2000 until 2008. When they release something compelling for me then I'll come back.
Thats what I tried to say lol, except ive had amd inside since 94' until 3 weeks ago when i got my i5. Saying how happy I was with my FIRST intel apparently makes me a fanboy. I know if the bulldozer platform does live up to the 4 year hype its had for a good price then im definatly going back to AMD.

Why not a SkullTrail mobo with 2 of the QX-Series CPU's? I mean there 8 physical core and 8 threads...

Too EOL for my liking.

Skulltrail didn't do very well the first time around. It wouldn't make much sense for Intel to introduce another variant of it that would almost certainly end up having the same results. The people who really want dual-CPU rigs can always go with a Xeon setup anyway.

We can and we do, but I would much rather pay a tiny bit extra and have the ability to overlock.

That's true, but unfortunately from Intel's point of view it doesn't make much sense economically. It's pretty much a guarantee that it would cost them more in R&D to make a new Skulltrail platform than they'd make back from it.

It would cost them very little, maybe a couple hours, days work at most. The Intel 5500 chipset? It's simply a re-badged X58. No need for special ram, special set ups, special nothing.
