6 physical cores/12 virtual would do wonders for the 'bigadv' folding crowd.

Uhh, these are hexa-core chips, meaning 5 cores, not 8. That would be an octa/octo core chip. But still, pretty damn sweet to know they will work with older boards, that's the way to do it!

hexa = 6, we are talking about 6 physical cores and 6 logical cores (hyperthreading) witha a sweet total of 12cores!

Whoever needs 6 cores and 12 threads....Yea.....I can't think of anyone that needs that much, except for the hardcore folders.

I'll stick with AM3 and LGA1156. Thanks.

Core i9 will be released at the same time as AMD's Leo platform...Oh boy for AMD.

MOAR Threads!

Actually for video editting, more threads are great. Adobe Preimere currently maxes out all 8 cores of my i7 when rendering HD video.

I also natively edit video at 1920x1080 and there is a slight bit if stutter and lag even with 8G Ram and 3.2GHZ i7
