I'll be wanting an i9 for 3d/2d rendering as well as f@h.
More cores/threads is better for sure... the i7 kicks , and I'm sure the i9 will kick even more .
Hopefully my gigabyte board will support it, or I'll have to find a way to upgrade that too.

Yep, and only AMD comes up with perverse creations like a tri-core CPU...so maybe AMD will also make a penta-core CPU.
