Scythe has been really working hard when it comes to cooling innovation. The Setsugen (Snow Field) - with its release now official - looks to keep your GPU's running nice and cool. The most striking feature this cooler offers is the fan mounting position. With the use of Scythes latest Slipstream Slim Fan (120mm x 12mm) they have decided to mount ... [ Read full article ]

I would love to see this tested on several different cards against standard, other after market and water cooling as it sounds like it'll be a great and cheaper alternative to water cooling.

The design looks like it's based on the Mugen 2. Nice.

That looks mighty convenient ! GOGO Scythe

I know that slipstreams don't really excel in the static pressure department, let's see how this impacts performance

Here is a review: Highend-Kühler: Scythe Setsugen trifft ATI Radeon HD 5850 und 5870 - Temperaturen: Radeon HD 5870 (Seite 12) - Tests bei HardTecs4U
Its in german, but the diagrams don't need translation ;-)

I was thinking of getting the Twinturbo Pro, but the Scythe looks more promising. (4890)

Due to slim slipstreams terrible static pressure and tendency to make lots of noise with resistance, I don't think that fan will work too well.

My biggest problem with these types of coolers is they can warp the video board. I'm sorry but I need something that screws into a 10 inch video board in more than 4 spots in the MIDDLE somewhere. There needs to be support in other areas. If you think this is good for a video card your crazy.

video cards can bend a bit. They are not as fragile as most people think. Just think of the hundreds of thousands of people with coolers like this. Even a lot of stock coolers do this. Even if this were to break a card most nvidia manufacturers like EVGA would replace your card.

looks like a decent cooler. is that a 140mm fan? hmmmmmmmm...with that muc hsurface area, you can do passive if nearby airflow is of some importance(like in cm cases)
