Default EVGA P55 V - Sometimes Simple is Best

EVGA is a performance company; from their unique GTX275 Co-Op graphics card, to their award winning FTW Series of motherboards. However, in an effort to bring Intel's Lynnfield CPU to the everyday user they have introduced the newest P55 board to date -enter the P55 V series. Sometimes keeping it simple is best. Although many have come to love EVG... [ Read full article ]

I think this is almost a step backwards. I don't know who would actually buy this board. The power circuitry looks pretty weak.

...the common person who wants a simple build usually pays a premium to do so. The P55 V is looking to change that ideology without sacrificing their quality in the process.

...this board is mainstream and not enthusiast focused.

With a estimated price of $119.99USD , this is sure to get many everyday users to give EVGA a try on their new Lynnfield
Key word: Consumer.

Exactly. Remember 99% of people are not like us and just want a cheap board that has the basic features they need from a reputable manufacturer. This is for them

But that's the point!

This board is targeted to those people who want to build a p55 based rig that DOESN'T have amazing uber-OMGWTFBQQ overclocking capabilities and e1337 features that no one besides enthusiasts really use.

And have you looked at the suggested price? It is one of the lowest priced p55 boards I've ever seen. From EVGA no doubt!

This looks like a winner in the htpc crowd and the budget gaming scene.

Then again, who builds a PC without much experience? I still think it will be a great HTPC and budget build board. Makes me consider i5.

Not all system builders are over clockers. Enthusiasts with serveral computer may not wish to overclock all their computers. And many enthusiasts also build compters for their friends and family members. And then there are small computers stores which build and sell computers.

This is a very very very very good budget board. It will no doubt be under $100 USD in a few months and can do SLI. This board probably can overclock pretty well. This board paired with 8GB of DDR3 1333mhz ram, Core i5 750 and dual GTX 260's and you can play pretty much every game out there max with 4xaa at 1920 x 1080.
