Wasn't Intel making LGA1366 platform an enthusiast only type of thing, where you have to spend big money to get good performance?

You know, I'm pretty new to the whole PC enthusiast thing, but really? I purchased a 920 in August and it's going to be EOL by the end of the year? I know the processor is going to last a good many years as it will take some time for the mainstream to catch up to the same kind of performance, but still.

It's going to be really hard for me not to grab a Gulftown. I promised myself I would wait re: the HD 5850 and I caved like a melting snow fort. Sigh.

There were rumors that the 920 was going to be EOL before Lynnfield was released so not surprised but really looking forward to Gulftown.
