Default Intel Rolls Out Core i7 960

Intel has silently released the Core i7 960 LGA-1366 processor after the Core i7 965 EE was dropped to make room for the 975 flagship model.

The new model is identical to the 965 in most every respect, aside from the lack of Extreme designation, meaning no upwards unlocked multiplier.

Almost 600$ for a CPU seems like a terrible deal to me.

Its a steal of a deal compared to the i7 975 which is 200MHz faster and $1,200


In that scenario your paying $600 (200% increased price) for 200MHz (a 6% performance improvement)

It was probably the guys in the accounting department whom know 1 + 1 =3

why are the turboboost speed on I7 so low? can't they get it to 4ghz or so since its clocked at 3.2ghz
