Dyson bladeless fan

Dyson has developed a new fan that is bladeless, could this technology be adapted to removed the deadzone from the radiator fans? What do you think of this gadget?

Its not really blade less. They simply stuck the damn impellers inside the ring....making a tried and true technology (fans) into a more fail prone toy with a LOT more moving parts.

Seems cool but not really useful for a PC. I vote option 3 - interesting but not useful.

“Air is pulled into the machine’s cylindrical base with an impeller that draws from jet-engine technology”

It can't even move the hair of the women that put their face right at the opening. Great gimmick but probably useless. And the 10" is only $299.00 :haha:

"Money is drawn in from your annular waste chute where it is marked up an astounding 5000% and gently scattered on the breeze".

$299US for a 10" fan. No cfm figures mentioned either. I thought their vacuum cleaners were stupidly overpriced but this is ridiculous.

NoKlu October 14, 2009 12:04 PM

It's revolutionary so I doesn't need to be measured in CFM's. It only moves "gallons per second"

gingerbee October 14, 2009 12:07 PM

ya i got what you meant after i posted sorry just a waste ( thought you meant the obvious kinda of impeller ) by just removing the center drive
