Fail indeed. This is the main reason I went with Wireless G for at least a couple more years. Especially considering this spec will be 'old', and therefore cheaper, soon enough.

So now the question is do all the current hardware models on the market meet minimum spec?

Yes. 99.99% of the devices that were sold since introduction will be compatible with the completed specs.

Most of the N class stuff should have firmware updatability. Its not like the 'official' status changes anything anyways. Compatability has been working fine on 11n for a long time as is.

I guess we'll see tho.
