thought this was a joke at first...

So... If they're going to make crazy boards, can't they make an enthusiast level dual socket LGA1366 motherboard then please? It's fairly easy to add/make, to give me DP Xeon overclocking power...

It ain't dead yet. The power circuits seem to be the same. So what's the point?
Can it do 4-way with 4 separate cards? Just curious how that works.

That is pretty cool but 4-way SLI isn't something new and this board isn't that exciting but the GPU is definitely new.

PCI is dead to me. I don't own any PCI products anymore and I avoid buying them. I want it to die off.

The classified CAN do 4-way SLI with 3 daul slot cards and 1 single slot card. In a way I kinda have a 4 way SLI setup with one GPU as a physx card. You can have 4 GTX 285's in a classified mobo if you wanted to. You can have 7 GTX 285's in the new classified 4-way SLI system if all the GPU's were single slot.

Its for the hardcore Benchers....I can imagine the heat coming off of 4 285's.....my 3 280's are cooking most times....
As mentioned, you'll need a Case capable of handling all of these Slots....even my TJ09 cannot do Tri Sli + PhysX Card.....but honestly..with Tri Sli 2XX you certainly gain no advantage running a dedicated PhysX Card...
Where's 3oh6.....i'm sure he'll be all over this......

Look at the article page, only 9 cases on that list support 10 expansion slots. I'm unsure if there are more, but I know there aren't many at all.

Belgolas, How would you have a single slot card though? Would it be like 4x 275 with 1 water cooled or something? Or did you just mean as a physics x card. The fastest single slot I know of is the 9800gt right?

If you get the right water cooling you can have any card except the dual PCB cards to be single slot.

Just having 4 cards does NOT mean you have a 4-way SLI. It is a 3-way SLI and a physx card. To get 4-way SLI you need the cards connected in SLI. Just having 4 cards means nothing. Also from my understanding after reading the boards over at eVGA, the only card capable of 4-way SLI is their new GTX 285 classified.

Quote:
eVGA forum 4-Way right now is only for the 285 Classified, there is a special jumper on the card itself to enable 4-way mode.
Now that said you could put in 4 GTX285's and power 8 30" monitors with ease, 10240x3200 resolution FTW.

I'm a little curious in regards to how much are you going to get from using 4 GTX285's over a pair of 295's? For that matter, doesn't Asus have a special 295 model that actually uses a pair of 285 cores?
