I agree - Personally from what I understand, it is nothing more than mishmash of turbo boost, ready boost, regular ole ram and pcie ssd as you said - stuff they have been working with for years.
I suspect that it just completely sucked the big one (like turbo & ready boost) when actually implemented - and given that it was the difference between P55 and P57, there would be an outcry if they charged $100 more for it and it blew chunks.
