Battery issues suck the big one

Details on the issue are pretty scant as lenovo is keeping a tight lip on it. Not even announcing it through a PR or anything - You get told about the problem if you contact them and that is about it. Hence the reason for story being picked up by new sites Gotta get the word out.

According to Digitimes:
Quote:
Sources from battery makers commented that the problem is likely a issue within the battery cells and so should not impact Taiwan's battery packaging companies since the defective cells were not provided by Taiwan makers.

Typing this on an R60 (work computer, with a battery currently removed due to issues). Still covered under the mandatory warranty we have at work, which includes batteries so I am not concerned.

Two guys I work with have R60s. One of them was complaining about battery problems so I should definitely tell them about this. Thanks for the news.
