For those using Thinkpad notebooks, take note, Lenovo is currently recalling and offering replacements for batteries of the following models that report "Irreparable damage" or "Battery cannot be charged" messages. Battery issues suck the big one :sad:


Details on the issue are pretty scant as lenovo is keeping a tight lip on it. Not even announcing it through a PR or anything - You get told about the problem if you contact them and that is about it. Hence the reason for story being picked up by new sites :bleh: Gotta get the word out.

this wouldnt be ibms first time. they had problems with the t40s series too and many other ones too

Typing this on an R60 (work computer, with a battery currently removed due to issues). Still covered under the mandatory warranty we have at work, which includes batteries so I am not concerned.

Two guys I work with have R60s. One of them was complaining about battery problems so I should definitely tell them about this. Thanks for the news.
