The evolution of DDR3 seems to be moving at a much faster rate than it's predecessor did at it's genesis. Only a couple of months ago people were predicting that there would be no practical reason to upgrade until well into next year. Now, even though prices are still fairly high, the speeds and performance that can be achieved can't be ignored, and are plenty of reason for enthusiasts to make the jump.
Anantech released an article today announcing
OCZ's "fastest DDR3 on the market" at DDR3 1800 wow!, right? Except that
Super Talent has just released ddr3 1866 to market: wow! wow! While these are running rather slack 8-8-8-24 timings and will put you out about 625 bucks, it will still be worth it for some people. All that extra clock speed can't be used yet, but I'm curious to know what kind of latencies can be had when they're lowered.
