i personally wouldn't grab anything less than an i7.

Anyways... my E8400 is still running fine and dandy, and even if, all i need to do is swap it out for a Q9550 or such.

I don't like their new naming scheme. Just when consumers get used to it, they change it again. So called simplifying the brand structure...

It's part of Intel's intent to promote themselves as a brand, just like those commercials they were/are running. Once you've decided to go "Core", you can pull your hair out trying to decipher all the brands. And now unscrupulous system builders can have a field day selling overpriced systems to people who are in no position to understand terms like "cores" or "threads"
