I think it's a nice unit. I wouldn't buy one personally since there is no competition with Nintendo's realm as well as the IPOD phenomenon. At least they removed the dreaded UMD format.

That looks terribly bad to hold for long periods of time, just like the DS

And replaced it with another proprietary format: the Memory Stick Mini. At this point the MSM is only available on some Sony PDAs from what I know and considering its cost, it can bloody well stay there.

It also looks like the screen size has been reduced.

I bought an 8GB memory stick for 25$ off EBay... not that bad. But I would have pushed the SD HC Format and finally uniform the memory card market. Also, I think they are saying it comes with 16GB build-in memory. So, no worries there, each games are 500MB each.

Yeah, but from what I heard, it will have 16GB built-in and expendable memory (ie. Memory Stick MICRO). I have an 8GB and it's not even halfway full so really not an issue. But, really it's the same with Olympus and their xD cards. Glad that fuji actually dropped and went with SDHC.

You're the one person to mention the iPod.

This is Sony's target audience...the iPod users.

Sony has updated the PC-software interface, renamed "Media Go" as well as the PSP's version of the "PlayStation Store" to have almost the same exact features as Apple's iTunes...minus the "tunes"...podcast downloads, Movies and videos, photos...and a far more "hardcore" set of gaming applications. I'm just waiting for the Sony/BMG artists to arrive in the "PlayStation Store"...and when asked, they kinda avoided the "Sony Music" subject @ e3.....as well as pricedrops on the PS3 hardware...
