I agree they need to give more bandwidth cap space not more speed overall!
you got my vote son in complete agreement. they won't cause they can only charge as to a max of 25$ over max usage.

Ouch ...

Shaw's offering up 7.5 and 15 Mbps packages for similar prices here in BC with 60 GB and 100 GB limits respectively.

You guys out east are getting jacked :p

I don't know if I believe that Trayton judging from the amount of computers I see in your sig.

A 10Mb/ps line from rogers should cost you around 59.99 (its what I pay monthly now) I know they increase the rates of their extreme speed internet to offset the losses from this manufactured recession.

Well folks, it appears that rogers VIP packages have changed as well. I got my rogers bundle app 8 years ago. It was called the rogers better choice bundle. At that time, customers that bundled their wireless, internet and cable (home phone did not exist yet) were offered a 15% discount off their monthly bill. Now you have to subscribe to all 4 services to receive the 15% off. In other words, my monthly rogers bill just went up without an increase in service prices. However, I'm still getting 15% off my wireless service until rogers finishes their audits. My internet and cable receive 10% off starting this month.

Just to let all (or any) of you that are using this package know, that rogers is conducting audits of their services and will be bumping users of this package from their lineup. Be prepared to spend some time with customer service when you see the increase on your online (or paper) billing.

Has anybody else here run into this yet?

I've been doing some digging through my past bills. I have discovered that since this bundle has been "discontinued", I have to pay $6.99/month for my extra cable outlet and $2.99/month for the "digital services" fee that used to be included in my bundle.

plus applicable taxes, of course

So the bottom line is:
2 months ago my high speed express and cable bundle...$120.49
This month's billing cycle $49.99 for internet and $111.26 for cable.

plus applicable taxes of course

So basically I'm being forced to purchase a new bundle that is more expensive than the last one I had to keep my current services. Either that or pay the extra 40 bucks/month and suck it up like a good little consumer.

EE : I only ever have 3 computers running at a time, one for me I game semi professional I guess you could say (I manage a team called eXeGaming have since March 27th 2003). We just attended that Aurora Lan and won 1st $1250 had to split 5 ways though.

Its fun and keeps me busy when I'm not doing the Father/Husband thing or working lol, I also work 2 jobs so that helps. Last but not least I get my brothers hand me downs who makes more then me a month then I do in 3 :(

So no I'm by no means rich just have an excellent wife whos good at money management. That 4th computer is soon to be gone to another home though!

The real point at hand is how can they "ROGERS" / "BELL" etc keep screwing us all and upping rates when really things should be getting cheaper! It sure as hell doesnt cost them much to do a long distance call they've been doing voip for ages and still charged us larges rates for it as though it wasnt through voip. Internet our country is behind most yet we still get charged more then most. Not sure what we can do to fight it to be honest but its defiantly a huge pet peeve of mine! That and the fact when you call for support its usually some person in another country (I want them to have jobs too) but why are they charging us large rates and paying small rates for our support?

I know this is a fact too I worked for Stream (they do inbound support for many companies, HP, Dell, Rogers, TWC/RoadRunner, Samsung etc...

I worked for TWC and they closed us up almost 2 years ago now and moved it all over to the phillipines where my manager and other high ups there said they pay them about $2 an hour for the job they were paying us $10.50 for! So why are we paying such high rates?

*END RANT*

Yeah I'd rather have a bandwidth increase.
I've been looking at DSL but it's parents who pay for it.
