That is their plan to sell us more GFX cards. :P
In theory, the more processing power we've got in our PC vid cards (when compared to the consoles), then the easier it would be for game producers to make better direct ports by using the overhead to make them work as well or better on a PC as they do on a console.

That said.... I've never been a big fan of using processing power to overcome sloppy code.

UNBELEIVEABLE!!! I said MONTHS ago, 1280 shaders would be nice...now we hear "around" 1200 shaders?

Surrounded? Um, no.

Doesnt seem all that bs tbh. It can easily be done with a die the size of the one the gtx280 etc use.

So much for that "Side Port" thingy that is on ATI 4870X2... supposedly it increase the power of their video card like crazy... but looks like they will butcher this idea.

Wonder if they ever going to release, could give a nice push for the current ATI 48x0x2... and also test that actual feature for the future...

4870X2 Crossfire " SIDEPORT" xsp

They don't need sideport, basically scaling for CS is good as it is. If it does increase power consumption, then its rather just a waste and the 4870x2 produces enough heat as it is.
