Default Canada officially added to piracy blacklist

Well, we figured it was coming but it was Obama that made sure it happened:

globeandmail.com: Canada placed on copyright blacklist

Expect some tough new rules on internet piracy now that we are the "only advanced democratic nation" on the copyright blacklist, and you can be sure the government will take measures to get us off it.

Ah the great Obamunist, shows his true colours. A corporate lap dog is a corporate lap dog whether he is white, black, brown, yellow or pink and ALL yank politicians are mega corp lap dogs at heart. We were pushed around on soft wood lumber, mad cow and god only knows how many other BS deals over the years. Wanna bet Harper uses this to reintroduce his BS IP law? Maybe it IS time for a Liberal MINORITY government. Give those tossers a chance to play agian...but not with enough power to ignore the public. It breaks my heart to say that as I am a "small c" conservative. :(

I am a small 'l' liberal, dislike Harper and Layton, but I think that Ignatieff would align himself with Obama fairly close too so you might be disappointed on that front AkG...

Obama can go **** himself. I feel disgusted that I supported him during the elections, I can see now that McCain, despite some of his misguided ways, would of been a better choice. Bush may of been a bumbling idiot, but all that's happened is he was replaced with a sly, smart bastard who's just as evil.

This is just the latest in the recent trade crossfire between Canada and the US, first he rekindled the softwood lumber argument, then he attacked our hog and cattle market, and now hes attacking our privacy laws through a "guise" of piracy. Whats next? An attack on our already damaged manufacturing sector?

I hope that our gov't can see the light and push back. The American government needs to stop thumbing its nose into other peoples business.

All American presidents are puppets of the real power brokers. Obama is a gifted orator but if you scratch below the surface you will see all the usual hallmarks of a politician that is being steered in whatever direction his handlers want to go. Unfortunately they do not like the "true north strong and free" and are bent on subjugating us to their will.

That is right on the mark. It would not have mattered who "won" the election, they are all run by the same people anyways.

Now pardon me as I run off into the corner with my tin foil hat.

P.S. Ever wonder about the tinfoil hat? I mean it is meant to keep people out of your head, yet is it not tinfoil that we add to antennas to make them receive signals better?

Yes, but it only works to amplify a signal when it's attached to something that's going somewhere (i.e. the antenna).

It's still quite effective as a shield so long as you don't allow it to come in direct contact with your brain stem.

(Well, mine at least works that way..... :) ).

I find it rather amazing how much money corporations and governments dump into trying to prevent piracy. I haven't yet seen any of their measures to really force people to stop, if anything it just further promotes it since it gets a ton of media coverage.

I just wish we actually had a democratic government that didn't take bribes from corporations, and actually did as the people wanted. I'd also like a government that embraces the 21st century and understands that the Internet should be free domain. Unfortunately I doubt I'll ever see that in my lifetime.
