Default AMD VP sells shares

EGADS! You know things aren't going well when upper management is jumping ship - time for me to call TD Waterhouse I guess....

An executive vice president of chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc., sold 19,597 shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
In a Form 4 filed with the SEC Friday, Henri P. Richard reported he sold the shares Friday for $14.32 apiece.
Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

I've weathered a few scares (imagined or otherwise) on these stock since March, but with the latest delays for AMD, it can only spell one thing- they're scrambling to try to get their new processors to compete and it smells of desperation- I don't like it a bit.

Sadly, the lack of any real support from motherboard manufacturer's for AM2 has also hurt sales badly. There are very few decent AM2 boards and the bios updates are few and far between. My board is terrible for that and really not that impressive considering what DFI makes it out to be. I still doubt we'd ever totally lose AMD, but there seems to be a chance they may become a smaller player soon if Barcelona doesn't cut the mustard. I'll still buy one (Barcelona) even if it is as fast as current C2D and cannot beat Intel's next gen CPU's. That is the only reason I still run my PC. I'm not overly happy with it, but I don't feel like taking the loss trying to sell my mobo/CPU/ram to jump to C2D. Tough times to own AMD for sure, but all hope is never lost.
