Default Dell to sell computers at Wal-mart

Not sure if this is a good thing or not.........

Dell to sell computers at Wal-Mart (@CBC)

I suppose it will open the market up a bit for the lower end "I just want to send e-mail & surf the net" crowd.

I need a new laptop as mine just took a crap on me....hopefully Wal Mart will carry some decent Dell laptop models.

Actually, it probably won't be soon enough....after two days without a laptop, I'm already at wits end......

According to the article it's just going to be desktops and it won't be until the second week of june so if you're already going through withdrawal symptoms I doubt you'd make it..... :)

What do you mostly use your laptop for?

I picked one up 3 years ago and spent a ridiculous amount of money for one with dedicated graphics mem as I wanted something I could take to sea with me..... looking at laptops now I could probably pick up something for under $1K that would do everything I needed.

Web surfing, image editing, AutoCAD, email, word processing, presentations.

Now I will add O-Scope readings to that list since the next reviews will use the Stingray O-Scope.

Ugh, I would imagine that would be a nightmare for staff and customers alike ...

Anyone ever tried to ask a Wal-Mart employee for help or advice on anything ? Yikes ...
