| Rebate Processing Company Files Ch.11 Honestly, I already despise MIR's to begin with, but this piece of news sure isn't doing anything to change my opinion of them. Just another reason to remember that it's buyer-beware, especially during the holiday season.

Damn...nice find and just in time. I'll be avoiding MIR's if at all possible for the next while.

My first question is "how does a company which is paid X amount of dollars to give back to consumers go bankrupt"?.... oh wait... that's right, they don't expect everybody to claim, and they treat each claim like an insurance claim (they only get a percentage of total possible claims) in order to deny if at all possible..... Never did like to purchase items based on MIR, this certainly isn't going to help.

If companies want to offer rebates they should handle it themselves, not outsource it. I got a rebate on my Corsair ram this summer, processed by Corsair and I had my rebate within 2 weeks of mailing the forms. My rebates from OCZ and Pailt got here after about two-three months but they did get here.

I sent out 4 rebates worth $100 total on Oct 2nd. The only rebate that was handled by a 3rd party rebate co was for Palit and they have been the only one to confirm my rebate by e-mail thus far. OCZ and Corsair still not a word from and they handle their own rebates. I hate rebates with a passion so I just think of them as a hockey draft where I choose new hardware to be named at a later date. Funny how rebates always finds it's way back into the hardware circle of life...eventually...hopefully.
