Sweet! Any chance I can put in a request? Could you verify whether or not the top PCI-Ex1 slot is universal? The one in my Maximus only works with their supplied sound card, and doesn't recognize anything else.

so, is this going to be stricktly nehalem? or will it be backwards compatible with the 45nm c2d/c2q?

Nope. Entirely new socket (1366), absolutely no backward compatibility at all. New heatsink mounting brackets required too.

I am waiting for a lga1336 skulltrail board. My theory is, dont turbocharge an inline 4 banger:P Supercharge a 502 bigblock with dual 4 barrel carbs:P
Or get something thats reasonably fast out of the box like a mercedez of machines. Or, just get a Power 6 machine and run Windows Server with hacked Dx10
