Post Picking the best PSU for my build.

Here are a list of parts I plan on buying. Details on the aim on my build are mentioned here.

What are your thoughts on my choice for PSU? Do you think 650 Watts is overkill or do I need to go higher than that?

I based it off from Seasonic's watt calculator website.* What factors into this is that the graphics card I've already own has a memory clock speed of 8008MHz which exceeds the threshold of the watt calculator (only goes up to 2502MHz).

Also my budget is around $950 Canadian for my entire build;

bear in mind I've already owned two hdds:*

Samsung - 840 Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Samsung - Spinpoint M8 1TB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive

and a graphics card:

EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SSC GAMING Video Card

Im a fond lover of the Seasonic Focus+ Gold series.

Right now the 750w is the same price as the 650 at the egg. There is no such thing as overkill. Only open fire and 'reloading'. It will give you more room to grow later.
PLUS it is very good kit. I use the 850's in my mining builds. 10yr warranty. Stable power. Not fancy, but good kit.

YMMV

550w version would suffice, but 650-750 gives you the headroom for a more power hungry gpu in the future if you want. Seasonic Focus is a great psu.

550W - 650W should be sufficient for that build. You could always budget up to a 750W if needed. I'm not going to suggest the Focus+ but a Prime because there is lots of competition to it (Focus+ and even Prime_but rather you should look at the G3 or the T2 series from EVGA. Or alternatively you want a RMi/RMx power supply from Corsair. The G3 is a Leadex II platform from Super Flower and the RMi/RMx is a second generation RM design from CWT sold by Corsair. The main differences between the RMi and the RMx is the rifle bearing fan in the RMx and the lack of link/fan test functionality. Finally you have the option of the HX750 for the latest CWT revision (white/black label) of the HX series which are fully modular or the AX760.

Main reason I'm not recommending a Focus+ is that if you are going Seasonic might as well go for the Prime series only. Otherwise there is better options that don't have you paying simply for the Seasonic name.

I just looked on pcpartpicker since you mentioned this. G3 is an equally good PSU, so I completely agree with it as an alternative, but with current pricing there is no paying for the seasonic name. Focus+ vs G3 when I just looked had 550 watt G3 cheaper, 650 same price, 750 focus plus cheaper

G3 is Prime level equivalent performance in voltage regulation and ripple. The G3 also regularly goes on sale for the 750 G3 and lower wattage (850 G3 went on sale recently too). So compared to the Focus+ the G3 is simply the better choice overall. Unless he's buying the Prime or Prime Ultra the G3 is simply a better performing PSU and platform just like the T2 is.

Oh yeah the Prime Ultra Titanium is amazing, superb kit. Frickin' tanks. Just a tad outside the OPs price range (I figured one fiddy on a 1K build is about the max they are willing to spend).
G3 is also very good kit. EVGA got a bit of bad rep for their whole 'silent switch' of internals a little while back. Damn shame.
Really a toss up. I buy Seasonic as I have been using them for... a looong while and never gotten a dud. Like I said YMMV and its hard to go wrong with any of the ones listed in this thread :)
