My System Specs

Default 8 pin to dual 8 pin splitter

I've got four 8 pin to 8 pin GPU power cables and I want to break them out into dual 8 pin for my GTX 1080 Ti's.

there are 8 pin to dual 6 pin, or dual 4 pin molex to 6 or 8 pin, but no 8 pin to dual 8 pin options.

anybody know of something out there?

yeah, not as advertised. all the reviews are 1 star because the splitter is actually a CPU splitter, not GPU and one says it shorted their PSU.

boo! :P

thanks for trying, Gazoo. :)

found an option...but shipping from China and has a 2 month ETA for delivery. :P

edit - found a couple options out of the US. one is a single 6 pin to dual 6+2 pin and one is 8 pin to dual 6+2 pin. anyone care to comment on how big a difference there would/could be on power delivery via a 6 pin vs 8 pin power connector?

hey Krunch, the PSU can take load for up to 4 GPU...between the two PSU I have, they came with two 8-to dual 6+2 pin cables and two 8 pin to 8 pin cables. if I can get some 8 to dual 6+2 splitters, my problem is solved. :)

btw, what do all the lil numbers on the sides of the pin out diagrams mean?

They're the pin numbers. Not as important these days now that most consumer side connectors have idiot proof keys to prevent incorrect installation, but in the past we've had motherboard connectors that could easily be reversed. (They're also primarily there for the folks building the harnesses).

So, if I understand this correctly, you want to power a video card requiring two 8 pin connections with an adapter splitting a single 8 pin cable?

Please share with us a recording of when you power the whole thing on and start mining... We'd be curious to see what happens...

8 pin connectors are rated for 150W, that's why you can split an 8 pin into a two 6 pins since those are rated for 75W.

Groove...the cables the PSU came with are 8 pin to dual 6+2, meaning they're meant to be used with any combination of GPU power requirements. the PSU also has four dedicated 8 pin GPU power headers on it. so I have no doubt the PSU is good for the load...besides, each one is only going to power three 1080 Ti's each.

my biggest concern is the QC and wire gauge on any splitter I do buy. most of them are no longer available. most have bad reviews or the one's with good reviews only have a couple, making me suspicious.

guess I'll just play it safe. emailed EVGA...let's see what my options are. told them Antec sent me a whole new cable sent for my HCP-750, mebe they'll play ball and do the same.
