Default corsair hx620 for crossfire 7870

just wondering, i have a hx620 and am wanting to add another 7870 for crossfire.

Would it be enough or do i need to go for a 750+ psu?

cpu is an amd 6 core oc to 3.8ghz if that makes a difference.

to tell you straight up, I wouldn`t
I have the HX750 had dual MSI 7870 TFIII overclocked as well as my Phenom II 955 overclocked, technically I was using less power then you would be with your config. The power supply was running noticeably hotter with both cards running, it handled it and I know folks that ran dual GTX480 and an i7 930 on the same HX750 just fine for a couple years. I do not think you need 750+ but I am just going on my personal experience in my case, it was running hot, hate to think what would happen with that much less overhead available. if it were dual 7850s which if I recall saved an average 30w power use per card then I would say should be fine.

My config at time
dual 7870 clocked to 1150/1375 core and memory
phenom ii 955 clocked to 3.8 at 1.36v
8gb ddr3 memory running 9,10,9,24,36 at 1.5v
1 60gb ocz agility 3 SSD
1 640gb caviar black hard drive.

This is going to be one is going to be a personal opinion call. Would it be enough...probably. Will some people tell you to go ahead and do it...yeah. Would I do it in my own computer...no.

I think if you had two stock clocked 7870 and a power friendly intel cpu then it would be just enough. An OC AMD CPU and two GPU that likely have a factory OC would push it over my comfort zone.

EDIT: You would still have some room left for power consumption on the PSU though. You could sell the 7870 and go to a more powerful single GPU.
