Did you note the serial number?

he could be trying to do a swap for one he already killed and couldn't RMA or got refused etc..

3 770's SHOULDN'T overload it BUT it depends on how much juice the processor is sucking..

like above I would offer to help with RMA be friendly etc and say it was tested working when it left your hands.

personally I always test with buyer there or on web-cam or the like and note any / all serials (pic to prove label condition) before I sell anything on..

Normally the things I sell or trade are taken right out of an active computer so I know for a fact they're working. In this situation I'm pretty sure it was working but, since I swapped over to a laptop and sold my other desktop parts, it hasn't been active for a month so technically something in that time might have happened which is why I don't mind giving the benefit of the doubt. Really I am just trying to cover my facts, I tend to over analyze everything and get as much information as possible on situations.

I do have the serial number and it was one of the things I planned to check. I had tried to coordinate a meetup this weekend but it didn't seem to go anywhere so I'm not sure whats going on now.

Yea... as said... be helpful but chances are it's something he has done if it's dead or he has another problem that isn't the PSU..
