Corsair TX-850 KABOOM!!

customer bought one, first power on the caps in the PSU blew up ..... never had that with any psu in years but a bad batch is destined to happen

Unfortunately these things happen, hopefully it didn't take anything with it and the customer gets a good replacement.

Heh I had one blow after it had been returned to me because it wouldn't post.... That was a 10 yr old PSU that'd been worked pretty hard though.

what does it look like when a PSU blows up? just sparks? loud noises?

See Soul, I told you that PSU's have a limited amount of magic blue smoke. And you went and let it all out again!

I had a CD blow up inside the drive once... but, thanks to MythBusters I was not spooked, though wife almost had a heart attack

Well my PC Power & Cooling 950w MKII blew last week and it sounded like a shot gun went off and it lit up my room it was so bright. That what I get in buying a 1000w power supply for $139.You get what you pay for.Occourse all the rest my be fine ,but I want never trust that brand agin.I was scard it took out my motherboard and CPU and everthing else. That was the first time I ever had a powersupply blow up.I put back in my trusty Coolermaster 1100w UCP that I have had for over four years and Thank GOD everthing is working just fine.
