If we were impressed by the results posted by the Pro82+ in our load tests, we were downright stunned by how quiet it was throughout the testing period. This is actually the first power supply I actually had to check on to make sure the fans was actually spinning. To us, the word “silence” isn’t something to be brought into the open very often since there are hardly and computer components that can truly be called silent. Quiet yes, silent no but damn be if this isn’t the closest thing to silent I have come across with a fan on it. The 120mm fan which Enermax uses here seems to make excellent use of the Air Guard feature we saw earlier in order to produce the quietest power supply we have had the pleasure of reviewing.

I used to use enermax stuff exclusively a few years back on builds.
They never failed and always took a lot of use
I haven't used them lately.

I bought one as soon as ncix had it. ncix had a price discrepency of pricing it lower than the 525w version and jumped ship from ordering the HX620.

117.99 for pro82+ 625w vs. 119.99 for pro+82 525w odd eh.

Sometimes it depends on how many they order. Maybe they brought in a huge truckload of the 625W units but only a handfull of the 525W. Or maybe someone was asleep at the switchboard. ;)

At one time, enermax PSUs were the top recommended consumer PSUs (PC P&C parts were considered either industry, or extreme enthusiast) for folks looking for stable power on OC'd rigs or for higher end Vid cards. It just seemed like they stuck with the old lines without doing an upgrades to it and fell behind in either tech or possibly just perception.

Hopefully this is a return to the quality units they used to put out.

I'm glad to see you guys reviewing Enermax Units now (I wonder if my post about Comtronic doing RMAs had anything to do with it)

I actually almost bought the 625w pro82+ when it released but opted for the cheaper Corsair TX650. I was a little hesitant because of a lack of reviews at the time.

I'd like to see a review of the modu82+ psu line in the future on here for comparison... hopefully Enermax will send you one.
