I would still see what Corsair says. Start a support ticket.

And if you won't need the cash right away you can buy a new PSU and then sell the one you get back from RMA.

I've contacted the company, and they said they can't take it back if it's just because of the noise (like an old TV)... So I guess I'm stuck to buying a new PSU , and sell this one later on to someone who uses Fan cooling / not interested in silent PC.

Would a seasonic X-1050 be silent ? I noticed that the Coil sound is louder the higher the PSU wattage is.. (I went from a Coolermaster Silent Pro 1000W) So I guess I wont be taking anything close to a 1200W for now.

If it's idle coil whine and it goes away when you load the system, turn off power management features like C-states or w/e you have in your UEFI. Most high quality PSUs often have random coil whine issues with higher quality power delivery on motherboards.

Also, is there any particular reason you use a 1kw+ unit on a system that really only needs ~800w? Pricing in Australia is pretty bad last time I checked.

Ok I'll see my bios soon.
The only thing that pushed myself to buy over 1KW unit is for future proofing.. when the next gen high end GPUs are out, I'm planning to get 3 of them.. I just want to have sufficient power for that time.
Yes, the pricing is bad as usual

Voiding the warranty wont worry me so much, as long as it's dead silent.
Cuz I'm using a fully water cooled system, and I use lots of push pull silent fans on lower rpm, so the only thing that I can hear very very clearly right now is my power supply.. x_x
Hey,

I know what You mean , my AX1200 has the saem fan crap noise and it makes me mad !! . its 100% fan - jsut stop it and ull see . I RMA'd this PSU 3 times now AND ALL OF THE HAVE THIS SHIT NOISE which makes ma lunatic! So if You have possibility then jsut go and buy something else or face the possibility to be lucky on RMA process and get the unit without that pissing off noise. BTW anyone wanna psot a tutorial how to swap fans in this unit ?

That PC would be lucky to pull 600W through the wall.

Changing the fan (which isn't really dangerous) doesn't help coil whine
