Default BFG 800W power supply problem

Just a heads up. Mine went off like a bomb today. Sounded like a gunshot coming out of my case. Who knows what it took with it. I got a Silverstone to replace it, but since I bought the unit SKYMTL used for his review, no warranty for me . I am not blaming SKYMTL or this site so noone needs to take this the wrong way. I just have to say I was never 100% happy with it for reasons I knew of when I bought it.

I dunno about yall, but I disliked BFG as soon as they branched
out from video cards to what ever they could get their hands on...

Reminds me of OCZ too much (insert throwingup smily here)

I'd vouch for the ES-800, but the old ones always looked rickety.

Yeah, I am none too happy. With any luck, the replacement (850W Silverstone Strider) will treat me better. I should have replaced it sooner since I audibly heard it straining a few times. Luckily, when it did explode, it was not connected to the motherboard or any other hardware. I managed to unplug it when it first started what I thought was arcing. I unplugged it from the motherboard and everything else. Then I jump started it. It truely sounded like a gunshot, lol. Anyhow, thanks guys and I'll let you know when the funeral is.

I will talk to BFG on your behalf. Can you explain why you were not happy with it before it blew up?

Also, DO NOT throw it out. BFG will probably get in contact with you ASAP.

Please tell me that it didn't take anything with it... :( :(

Contact me via PM and I will see about setting this right. I have sold literally 40 PSUs already and this is the FIRST to die prematurely.
