Default Xion PSU

Hi I looking for a new PSU in the next little while and was wondering about the XON-1000P14HE. Information I've found on it through various forums say its made by an oem called superflower or something like that and its the same as the Kingwin Mach 1 (besides the modular connectors).

So after looking at this review
Kingwin Mach 1 1000W Review
which scores the psu 8 of 10 with the only bad being ripple issue.

So I almost have my mind made up, just wanted more feedback. Can I trust this Jonny guy?

That is a 2+ year old review and platform. Don't get me wrong, superflower is good but that was not the best platform they had.
If you want a good Superflower Platform get one of the New Rosewill Lightning's or Kingwin Lazer PSU's.
I wouldn't waste my money on an old XION, good platform or otherwise.
And their CS is a joke as well. Not worth the trouble,

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll think about them. I was also looking at Antec high current gamer 850 and an XFX.

oh btw on the subject of psu's, can I plug a 8 pin connector into a 4 pin motherboard? I know most psu's are 4+4 but I see some are 8 pin only.

Kingwin lazer are very good PSU. NZXT hale are also very decent. Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone and enermax are sure value. You have a lot of very good PSU on the market at different price. The only thing to remember, don;t go cheap on the PSU :)

Yes. The 8 pin ( the one for the CPU not the one for the GPU ) can be separated in 2 X 4 pin.

My quick (very quick) review: This PSU has looks thus it CAN'T be in the top PSUs.

I guess the concept of my review refers somewhat to my signature...

Looks mean nothing. If you read reviews from around the web the Rosewill Lightning and Lazer are as colourful and lit up as can be but are still TOP PSU's.

I'm 90% set on OCZ ZT Series 750W

I'm all over the place here 1000w to 850 to 750 now, from xion to antec to xfx to ocz.
To many choices.
