LinusTechTips Review of XFX 1000W 80Plus Platinum - XFX Don't have any Platinum PSUs

Hey, I was in the middle of looking up a PSU for my rig and I went on to the 80 PLUS certification website to look up 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies. I scrolled down to XFX's entry and there wasn't a single entry in the Platinum range.
I remembered that Linus had done a review of the XFX 1000W 80 Plus Platinum
I just thought to let you know. It looks like XFX slapped on a Platinum label without getting it certified.

Look up plugloadsolutions in google, and browse their list of 80 PLUS certified PSUs.

You're correct, it isnt listed. It IS however a platinum power supply. The XFX 1000w Platinum uses the identical internals as the Seasonic 1000w Platinum. This is a fairly common occurance with 80PLUS certifications on rebrands, unfortunately by definition of 80PLUS Certification even if you use the same internals you must reapply and retest for certification.

Like I said, lots of companies do this. Its bad for industry really. As long as you do your research and know what guts are in side the thing, buyer beware applies.
