Corsair AX750 vs HX850 Right now they are both the same price which one should I pick up.I am also looking to use this PSU for my next build aswell so future prof is nice. |
I would go with the absolute best ax 750 and its fully modular! |
I don't know where you are looking to buy the PSUs but Newegg.ca has the HX850 for $10 less, while BestDirect has the AX750 for 10 bucks less. the AX series is completely modular, is 80+ GOLD certified, while the HX is partly modular and is 80+ SILVER certified, but it is has (6) 6+2 PCI-E connectors vs. (4) on the AX750. The HX850 also has a higher customer rating vs the AX750, on Newegg. If you see yourself using the extra 100W, the HX provides, then the choice is simple. |
If you are interested in sleeving your cables in the future. I would suggest getting the Fully Modular AX750 since you wont void your warranty by sleeving. |
I would go with the HX850. |
If you are sleeving, go with the AX750. If efficiency is what you care about the most, the HX850 in some cases be gold+ capable depending on the luck of the draw so I wouldn't base your choice on just efficiency but rather how much power you think you'll need in the future. You can't really choose wrong with either one. |

Both are great and you wouldn't be going wrong with either. Ultimately it comes down to whether you would prefer full modular and slightly higher efficiency, or semi-modular and an extra 100w. |

instead of just one huge sleeve on the 24pin. You can sleeve each individual cable. It looks a lot better when cables are sleeved individually, at least imo and I'm sure a lot of people will agree. |
I had the HX850 and the fan was audibly loud so I took it back for an AX750 which is silent even powering a 6990. I'd take AX series any day over TX. |
