Default Am I about to smoke my Corsair HX620?

Yeah! Another "will this power my rig" thread!

I know my little Corsair PSU is beefy but I worry I might be sending it off to meet it's maker if I put it in the new rig I'm planning.

Here's what were looking at:

ASUS Sabertooth P67 mobo
Intel i5 2500K proc OC'd to 5G
8gb Corsair Dominator DDR3-1866
ATI Radeon 6950
2 WD Black drives
Laning Pump

Time for a new PSU.

You'll be fine as long as that's a single 6950, you'll have a hard time pulling more than 500W even with insane OC's.

The PSU will just turn off if overloaded..... at least that's what it's SUPPOSED to do....

My PSU has 30W more and I run much more on it than yours. I wouldn't worry one bit.

Hey Soul, I've got a very similar setup and i've been contemplating getting another 460 for SLI but I was slightly concerned doing so with my HX620. According to your rig specs, I should be okay it seems!

Yeah You'll be fine. I've gotta update my specs more, 2 raptors in tehre too, a Force 100, and a GT430 PhysX card.

So, given that you should be laughing,

Outstanding. Saves me $100 to throw at the GPU. Right now a $350 upgrade has turned into a $700 complete rebuild. I really should have never looked at the Corsair case that Sidewinder is selling. Gave me to many ideas!
