If you want modular I would go w/ this. As frontier204 & _dangtx_ have suggested, you aren't going to be using anywhere near 500w.

I used to use the eXtreme PSU calculator, but now I find it better to just ballpark based on reviews that use test rigs with similar components to mine. (e.g. the GPU reviews that measure power consumption with shunts inside the PC to measure without the PSU's efficiency factoring in)

You can also get extremely rough estimates based on the TDP of parts, but as the GTX 4XX reviews on this site show, TDP is not the same as power consumption.

I agree with everyone here. Stick with Seasonic, Antec, Corsair, or Silverstone. Get a 500 to 650 watt 80 plus or 80 plus bronze power supply. You can usually find them for $40 to $70.
