Enermax 525W for a GTX 570?

Hello! I've just ordered an evga gtx 570. My psu is an Enermax 525W modu 82+. The question is: do I need to change my Enermax 525W, or it is enough for my pc? I have just read the Harware Canucks review of the evga GTX 570 EVGA Geforce GTX 570 Superclocked Review, and I've read that the superclocked version needs a good amount of power. Will my Enermax be able to provide that power, since I would like to overclock a bit my standard GTX evga 570, and my 945 phenom II cpu? (from 3.0 Ghz to 3.4 Ghz). I was almost forgetting: my modded CM 590 has got 5 fans.

A Single GTX570 should be run no problem on the Enermax, as they are generally speaking very high quality PSU's.
And if you look at the test system SKYMTL has, its done with an OC'd i7 to 4.0, so 355W is Max consumption. You have a good amount of headroom still in your rig.

Your psu has three 22 amps 12 volt rails... should be plenty to run your card.

yup, no worries.

your enermax will do 480 watts on the 12v line, so the card will eat around

200-225 watts and your system maybe 150-175 oc'ed a bit more.

should be pretty fine :)

Wow I didn't think 480 watts on the 12v line. Ok since the psu is fine, the only thing to do is to wait for the video card Thanks again for the help!

i like reviews that overload the psu, such as hardwaresecrets one....let me see if they have rev'ed this one...


guess not...why look up a review where they overload it? well, its quite important actually.

1-you want to know if it will a-shut down or 2-continue going till it blows when asking more and more juice

and 2-how much can it give and still have the rails in spec, not only that but decent?

some units like the good old brick, aka silencer 750 were actually capable of more juice

without doing bubu on the scopes...check it out

Thank you for the informations _dangtx_. I must admit that I'm not very informed about psu, and that is why I've asked your suggestion. For example I thought that for an ali of 500W of 80% of efficiency, the maximum Watts it could give was 400W. Instead things are more complicated! For example if I have understood well my Enermax performs great on the 12 V line (480W, the 80+% efficiency I think it's already included I don't know). I got to learn more about psu. Thank you for the links. I will read them as soon as I got a bit of time :)

enermax is durable also, 550W should have no problem
