Well guys, we have a new power supply review up and this time it takes a look at Hiper's new Type-M 880W unit.

Overall it is a good performer which needs a few changes to bring its up its appeal in my eyes.

this is a nice PSU but i would hesitate to buy one

i already had trouble with my 580W Type R psu from hiper and im not sure if i would buy one of these for a future build

Hiper is a Great brand with nice product. but they sell it a bit over price compare to what other compagny give. they also seems to over rated their products a bit

i remember when i had this 580W type R psu. my rig was the following

Opteron 165@ 2.8Ghz, dfi LP-nf4 ultra, 2gb ram, 6600GT 2 hd, 1 dvd burner the PSu ran fine until 1 morning i press the power butoon and nuthing came out of it. it was suddlently dead ... replace it with a fortron 450W that cost me 40$ and it ran ran fine over 8 month until i swap out the 6600GT for a X1950XT then i switch for a corsair 620 and its now still fine ....

RMa process when throught it like a charm but never wanted to hook up that PSU in my rig again. i stil have it brand new, in the box right beside me

thats the little sotrie that make me hesite abolut that brand ... some says the Type R 580W weren't that good some say the opposite .... lets see what ppl will say about that 880W model

I think the 880W is pretty good performance-wise but the spike in ripple at higher loads COULD point towards a power supply that is overrated on its label. If it was priced at $150, I would recommend it in a second.

Expect this unit up for sale in the charity thread tonight...for $125.
