My System Specs

Default What power PSU should I get?

I have my new rig all planned out and the only thing that I am somewhat lost about is the strength of the PSU. The system is as follows:

Mobo- Evga p55 FTW
CPU- i5 750
GPU- GTX 460 Superclocked 768mb in SLI
Mushkin Ram
640 gb Western Digital Black
Samsung DVD Burner

I want a PSU that will provide me enough headroom for my future upgrades which might include:
SSD-100% chance of getting
GT 240 for Physx-75% Chance of getting
Fan Controller- 25% Chance of getting

I know that for the basic setup a good 750w PSU is enough but how much wattage would i need if I add in those upgrades at a later time, the one I'm most worried about is adding in the dedicated physx card.

I would recommend 600W at least.

He's running two Gtx 460's so I would recommend the Seasonic M12D 750W: NCIX.com - Buy Seasonic M12D 750W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS 8PIN PCI-E 120MM Fan - M12D SS-750 In Canada.

cheapest way out for you to have room for clocking both gpus and the cpu would be a 700 watter, well 750, from corsair or the above. altough without oc'ing the rig should need maybe 350-400 watts on the 12v i think. add another 100-200 with oc.

I would get a Corsair hx750 or Silverstone ST75F or similar. Dont cheap out on the PSU it is worth a few extra $ to get a good one.

I have found three psus that I find good and in my price range.

Corsair hx 750- $150
Silverstone strider plus 750- $123
Silverstone strider plus 850- $140

All psus are 80+ silver and also modular right now I am leaning more towards the strider plus 850 as it has a good price point yet and offers me a lot of room for exspansion. Which one would you guys pick?

I'd go with the 750W for your system. No need to spend more for power that you don't need.

Like zero said. No need for more then 750W unless you want to add A LOT in the future like a complete WC loop then I would go with the Strider plus 850. I am using this PSU in my system with a GTX260 + GTS250 a Oced CPU and a complete WC loop and he stand just fine and cold.

Neither of those, the one I gave you a link to is my choice. You can't pass up this great deal on a legendary PSU. I also love how it is a 2 rail design. Seasonic all the way bra.
