Default Reliable UPS/Surge Protector brand??

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a good brand of surge protector or UPS?

Got a bit of bad weather around Perth atm and ive just built myself a gaming rig and dont want to see it die in a bad storm

At work we use Powerware on our servers but they are pretty full on

The computer store i usually buy from sells Powershield UPS's and surge protectors, has anyone had any experiences with this brand?

If not can anyone recommend a brand they have personally had a reliable experience with?

Thanks in advance

To me, APC seems to be the way to go. My APC BACK-UPS XS 1300VA LCD 120V RETAIL has been pretty damn good so far. Depending on your rig specs, you'd of course adjust the capacity of the UPS, but that one handles my rig with ease.

Just read your PC specs, you could probably get away with far less than I have.

One brand really stands out IMHO, APC. I have 3 APC UPS's and a few of their surge protectors & have always been happy with them.

Costco had, don't know if they still do, the 550VA for under $50.

I'm actually quite Satisfied with my Cyberpower. It Replaced my APC that bought the farm saving my Folding Rig.

Same VA Rating, bout $60 cheaper.
I've never used a Liebert, but I'll take your word on that one , you know better than I.

Never heard of Powershield. I have 2 APC units ES 750 (around 105.00).

See if you will be able to replace the Powershield battery in a few years if/when it goes.
