PS Advice

I've been using a fairly crappy 650W BFG power supply for a while and it's far too noisy to have running 24/7. I'll probably be changing over this rig to a low power folding rig, so I was wondering if a higher efficiency cheap power supply like:

OCZ Z-SERIES 550W 80+ Silver Certified 24PIN ATX 12V Afc Power Supply W/ 120MM Fan
Price : $45.33 after MIR

would be worth it? Have anyone used the Z-series? Anyone know how loud they are?

Also, I'm looking for something with a little more power for a second rig. Would Seasonic M12D @ $130 be the best power supply in this price range?

OCZ no. Seasonic yes.

Not much in that price range that is 80Plus Silver but please remember that the Z-series isn't the best built around.

Ya I kinda figured, OCZ doesn't have best track record when it comes to power supplies. I figured for $45 it would be alright as long as the power draw is low enough that it doesn't get stressed much.

As far as the M12D, I've seen it go on sale fairly often but I was wondering if anyone remembers seeing it go lower then $130 before. Last week was $150, so I'm wondering if I hold off if it might drop another $10-$20. Being a student, I'm always trying to save the most possible when I buy something lol.

The OCZ is crap. There's a reason it's $45. OCZ sells their PSUs for cheap because they're built cheap.

As well as it's actually like $75 coming out initially before rebates too for the OCZ. Get the seasonic m12.
